From St. Thomas Note: You can also just cruise over to Culebra for a day or two from our base. This gives an entirely new flavor to your Virgin Island trip.
Spanish Virgin Islands 7-Day Itinerary Depart at Puerto del Rey Marina, Fajardo, Puerto Rico, after your checkout and chart briefing. Sail to Isla Palominitos and anchor off the beach. Have a swim and a sunset barbecue. (You can pick the boat up in Puerto Del Rey, or drop it off there.)
Day 1: An exhilarating sail takes you to Culebra. Anchor in the tiny cove at Cayo de Luis Pena for excellent snorkeling. Stroll across the peninsula to a beautiful sandy beach.
Day 2: A short sail brings you to Ensenada Honda, Culebra. Stop at the anchorage between Punta Colorada and Ensenada Dakity. The vater is crystal clear and calm, snorkeling and swimming are delightful.
Day 3: Explore Ensenada Honda. Anchor off the town of Culebra and have lunch at a harborside restaurant. Then go on to Bahia de Almodovar for snorkeling and beautiful little beaches. Donald Street calls this "one of the finest anchorages in the Caribbean".
Day 4: Leave Culebra and sail to Ensenada Honda on the south coast of Vieques. This is a mangrove-lined bay protected by an outer reef. There's great snorkeling, fishing, and gunkholing.
Day 5: At Vieques. Sail to Ensenada Sun Bay, with its snow-white, cresent beach. Spend the day swimming and beachcombing. In the evening, enjoy cocktails and dinner aboard your yacht, while the setting sun silhouettes Monte Pirata at the western tip of the island.
Day 6: Begin the trip back to Puerto Rico. Sail to Isla Pineros, an excellent anchorage, with calm, clear water and wonderful swimming and snorkeling.
Day 7: Return to Puerto del Rey Marina or end up back in St. Thomas.
